As zinc flake coating represents an Eco-friendly different to the traditional coating of small metal parts. zinc-aluminium-flake coating is applied on the various metal component. This is done by a cold immersion procedure in aqueous solution or by spraying and is chromium-free.

Zn-Al Flake Coatings is a cold-dip/spray process that results in a thin coating of zinc similar to that of plating. The components are dipped and spin in a cold zinc solution before they are baked at 350º Celsius. As the process is far newer than hot-dipping, it is unknown how long Zinc Aluminium Flake Coating will last.
